Little, by little, the Walt Disney World® Resort is slowly returning to its pre-pandemic glory. Let’s be honest – many of you (including us) would like to see the Walt Disney World we remember from over a year ago. Now, if you are having some trouble keeping up with where the resort is currently – we are here to help.
Face Coverings: At the Walt Disney World® Resort, face coverings are no longer required for vaccinated guests ages 12 and up except for on Disney transportation.
Walk-Up Dining: The walk-up availability feature on the My Disney Experience app was introduced when the parks re-opened last summer. The walk-up availability feature is still available on the My Disney Experience app. Here is how it works. You can search dining availability by hitting “now”, and it will pull up the walk-up list with availability. Hey if you are craving a dining location that is booked, check the app – you never know what magic you will find.
Character Dining: While the traditional character dining experiences have not yet returned, there are a few good options for guests who would like to see characters during their meals. If you are not sure if this option is best for your family here is how it works. Characters continually rotate throughout the dining rooms making distanced interactions – that means you can certainly get your distanced photo! Most dining locations are handing out autograph cards to their diners.
Character Meet n Greets: Sadly, these experiences have not yet returned, however Walt Disney World has gotten creative in the last few months with character sightings. In addition to the cavalcades, Walt Disney World now has characters popping around throughout the parks and they will even pause for socially distanced photos.
Nighttime Spectaculars: Beginning July 1st, Epcot Forever in Epcot and Happily Ever After at the Magic Kingdom will be lighting up the sky for guest’s enjoyment.
Now we know that this is not EVERYTHING. Yes, we are still awaiting the return of shows, parades, Fantasmic, character meet and greets, buffets and the remaining resorts, we are so excited to see the steps are headed in the correct direction.
