We’re Havin’ a Party!

We’re Going That a Way

“Trick or treat. Trick or treat. Trick or treat for Halloween.” Okay friends, whether you are excited for it or not… fall is a comin’. This means pumpkin spiced everything, sweaters and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! One of our favorite events at Walt Disney World is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. This extra ticket event combines everything that is great about Walt Disney World and Halloween into one fun-filled night. This event is truly for EVERYONE! No kids? No worries – grab a bag, eat a little something strap of comfy shoes, because you are going trick or treating in the Magic Kingdom. Don’t argue— you’ll LOVE it!

Here’s a little secret about us… we are totally planners. Surprise! Okay, maybe that is not much of a secret, but we can’t help it – we love it. No, this does not mean that we do not enjoy relaxing or “playing it by ear” – we absolutely enjoy that, but when it comes down to a specialty ticket mixed with limited time, you bet your Reese’s Pieces we’re going to have a plan!

Plan TOGETHER

Plan together with everyone that is attending the party with you to make sure you are doing what everyone would like to do. Know that it is “okay” for those partying with you to say “we’ll follow you” or “surprise us”. That does not mean they are not excited, it just means that they love to be surprised. Talk about different things in the party like the special photopass opportunities or snacks – I’m sure everyone will have an input about which extra special treat they would like to try.

Remember, the party only lasts for five hours! While that may seem like a lot of time, it will go by quickly. There is so much to do during the party from the Halloween parade, to shows, to fireworks, to special character meet and greets, to trick or treating for all guests … you want to do it all! While you may want to do it all, you will probably have to prioritize what you want to do most and you should definitely have a plan.

We highly recommend looking into all of the options that are available at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party prior to going to the party. Best case, you see everything you want and you end up with bonus time at the end to do whatever it is you would like to do.

Arrive Early

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party takes place on select nights from 7pm until midnight in the Magic Kingdom. However, even if you do not have a Magic Kingdom theme park ticket, Disney lets guests with Halloween Party tickets enter the Magic Kingdom starting at 4pm. That’s correct, a MNSSHP ticket gives the guest entrance to the Halloween Party as well as Magic Kingdom starting at 4pm. This is your “go time”. While the Halloween party does not start until 7pm, the early entry gives guests a chance to eat, do normal Magic Kingdom rides, and get their party wristbands before the official event starts.

Hint – once you have your Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party map, if there is a popular character you would like to see – lines generally start forming quite a bit before the party actually starts.  If there is someone on your list, you might want to spend your early entry time waiting in line.

We’re Really Not So Scary

Costume Plans

Florida gets really hot. We have been in Florida when the temperatures ranged from 20 degrees one night to 80 degrees the next – no joke! The Halloween Parties start in mid-August and run until the start of November. Plan for a steamy night and even a chilly one – pain to pack or not, you won’t regret it. At Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, you will find people dressed in matching shirts, well planned costumes or normal park clothes. If you decide to wear a costume, make sure to check the costume guidelines!  Disney can deny you access to the party because of your costume. The costume guidelines are listed on their website, we cannot stress the importance of checking their guidelines!

No Rides & Hello Dinner Before!

Let’s Go!

For us, the only rides worth doing during the Halloween party are those that have a special overlay for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. For 2019, these rides include Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mad Tea Party, and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. If seeing these unique versions of the rides are of interest to you, then we definitely recommend checking them out.

While most of the rides in the Magic Kingdom will have a short wait during the party, in our opinion, they are not worth the precious party time that you have. The parades, shows, characters, and trick or treating are what make the event so spectacular. We strongly recommend doing the rides during normal park hours and take advantage of the special event items during the party.

We highly, highly super highly recommend eating dinner before the Halloween Party. Given how much there is to do during the Halloween party and the special treats, you don’t want to waste any of your party time eating dinner.

Double the Treat Bag

Double the Bag = Double the Fun!

During Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party EVERYONE is invited to trick or treat. That’s right adults, you get to trick or treat too and it’s the good candy. We love trick or treating at the Magic Kingdom. You will get a lot of candy – like a lot! Some cast members give out a piece and others a handful so prepare your bellies – we mean bags. If you want to do a fair amount of trick or treating or if you want to do it throughout the night, we recommend bringing a comfy bag or backpack. Disney does provide a cute little bag, but it is really nice to have something

We hope these tricks and treats help you plan your visit to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! We have some extra magical ticks and treats for our clients attending that will make their time at the party even more “spelltacular”.

Your referrals are our most MAGICAL compliments!
