Now, we don’t care what anyone says – a birthday is special! Even though they are not celebrating 65 years young, Disneyland has a few fun celebratory activities planned. Let’s find out what!
A 64th Birthday Celebration Cavalcade will perform twice on July 17th, 2019. These parades will step off at 2:50pm and 5:20pm prior to the 3:30pm and 6:00pm performances of Mickey’s Soundsational Parade. The current Disneyland Times Guide notes that the cavalcade will include celebration moments in both the Small World Mall and Town Square areas. And… that is not all! Disneyland® Resort Ambassadors, the Dapper Dans and dozens of Disney characters will all be a part of this special procession. Rumor has it; there might also be special treats and merchandise, which we all know the two of us love event purchases – just saying 😉
Now, if you are not able to make it to the Disneyland® Resort to celebrate their 64th birthday, perhaps you can return when it is your very own birthday. Here is some ways to celebrate your special day.
THE Necessity: First thing first – pick up that special birthday button! Wear it – the entire trip. Though your birthday might only be one of the days you are on vacation, you will be celebrating throughout the trip – and you DESERVE it! You can find a buttons at the front desk of your Disneyland® Resort hotel or Guest Relations upon entering either of the Disneyland parks. Throughout the day/vacation, you will hear Cast Members congratulating you on your special day. Special surprises may follow like a surprise treat after dinner or even a celebratory song from the Dapper Dans!
Celebration Extras: Guest of the Disneyland® Resort hotels can order cakes, gift baskets, and floral arrangements to be sent to the hotel room from the the one and only – Disney Dream Makes.
Birthday Hat/GEAR: One of the two of us might, just might have an obsession with Minnie (and Mickey) ears. You only celebrate once (a year) so grab yourself the trusted Mickey celebration hat or Minnie birthday ears!Not into the hat thing? No worries – pick up some birthday accoutrement at stores outside of the park. After all – it is your birthday – get noticed!
Sign Sealed Delivered: Bring an unsigned birthday card and take it to one of the many Disneyland character meet and greets and have characters sign your card! Take it home and frame it!
Ain’t No Calories on Your Birthday: Live up your birthday celebration in style at one (or more) of the many restaurants the Disneyland® Resort has on property. From the restaurants in Downtown Disney to the classic Blue Bayou, there is something for everyone. Cast members at the restaurants know how to make your birthday just a bit more magical so skip those afternoon snacks and gorge out at a restaurant you love, or want to try.
Finally, HAVE FUN! So often we find ourselves stressed – even when celebrating a birthday. So live it up! Maybe you celebrate in the parks often, or maybe you don’t, either way – make it special and celebrate it how YOU want to celebrate. Us? Well we are a little bit of the opposite. We LOVE to be surprised! For us, it is so much more fun having someone else plan the special day full of surprises especially with us in mind.
