Planning a Trip to Walt Disney World® 101

We are often asked how far in advance we recommend planning a vacation to Walt Disney World® Resort. This week we are going to take an in-depth look at this question. We hope that you will find this information helpful and we look forward to helping you plan your next Walt Disney World® vacation!

Walt DIsney world® Resort Vacation Packages

Typically packages for the following year are released in late June. When packages are released we can then book vacation packages up to 499 days in advance. So if 2020 packages are released in the same time frame they have been in previous years, then we will be able to book vacation packages into the beginning of November 2020.

We always recommend planning as far in advance as possible to take full advantage of everything that Walt Disney World® has to offer. In addition, when packages are first released there is typically the most availability for all room types and resorts. If you are planning to take a trip in 2 years of more we can always give you a quote for resorts you would be interested in for the current year’s pricing. That way you have a ballpark idea of what pricing will look like.

This questionnaire will provide us all the information we would need to provide you a quote. Don’t forget that our services are at no extra cost to you when booking a vacation package through us! Yes you read that right, we offer 100% free services when you book a package through us! To book a Walt Disney World® vacation package, Disney requires a $200 deposit. We recommend having final payment in 45 days prior to the start of your trip. We can process as many payments as you would like between deposit and final payment.

Promotions

One of our favorite types of emails to send out, are the ones where we get to inform our clients we were able to apply a new promotion to their vacation that saved them money. We offer complimentary price check as part of our fee free service, so as soon as Disney announces any promotion we make sure to check in with each package we have reserved in order to determine if the promotion will apply. For example if you book a package in June and then a promotion is released in September, then as long as that promotion applies to your package, we will automatically apply it and let you know what promotion we applied and how much it decreased your package!

180 Days and Dining

Dining reservations are usually an integral component to the perfect Disney vacation. From getting to meet your favorite Disney characters or experience one of the many fine dining experiences Disney has to offer planning for dining is usually one of the first things we help you plan out. When staying on Walt Disney World® Resort property, advanced dining reservations can be made 180 days in advance and can be made for up to 10 days of your trip on the 180th day. When staying off property, dining can be made 180 days in advance on a day by day basis. While there are many perks to staying on property, having the ability to reserve up to 10 days of dining typically covers your entire Walt Disney World® vacation which gives your more opportunity for snagging a hard to get reservation.

Whenever possible we highly recommend having a resort reservation at least 7 months in advance so we are able to come up with a park plan in advance of your 180 day. Once we come up with your park plan, we then like to have a plan for your dining reservations 190 days in advance. This way we are all set and ready to make your dining reservations for you as part of our fee free services are making all of your dining reservations for you!

If you include the Disney Dining plan or the Deluxe Disney dining plan it is especially important to have a plan for your dining reservations to get the most out of all of your table service dining credits.

We can be as hands on or hand off as you need us to be when coming up with your park plan and dining reservation plan. We have had clients who let us know what their plan is and just send it over to us, most often we collaborate with our clients with a mix of their ideas mixed in with our suggestions, then we have had clients who have said we are okay with whatever you suggest. Our goal is to make your vacation as enjoyable as possible and take all the stress out of the planning process! If you want a more laid back vacation with plenty of pool time and relaxation or if you are planning to pack in as much as you can, we can help with any type of plan you would like.

Every time we go to Walt Disney World® we make sure to try out some new restaurants that way we have personally experienced many of the restaurants to give first hand accounts and suggestions to our clients! Dining is one our favorite aspects of our trips and we have had many great memories made with the excellent array of dining options available across the Walt Disney World® resort.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is another popular reservation we can make 180 days in advance. This special experience for guests ages 3-12 is an awesome way to add something special to your vacation!

60 days and fastpass+ Selections

The next big component to your Walt Disney World® vacation is Fastpass+ selections. This allows you to reserve 3 attractions in one park for each day of your vacation. We offer our tips and tricks to help make this process as easy as possible. The My Disney Experience website and app is where you will go to make the fastpass+ selections and it is very important to become familiar with both of these work. While you are on vacation the My Disney Experience will be your go to for all of your dining reservations and fastpass+ selections. In addition after you use up your 3 fastpasses for the day, you can use the app to select additional fastpasses one at a time. This is a great way to get on as many attractions with minimal wait times!

Travel Packet

About 3 weeks prior to your vacation we will provide you with your travel packet. This will include your full day to day itinerary including all your dining and fastpass+ reservations, up to date park hours, park maps, tips and tricks for navigating each park, any special events going on, and so much more. This travel packet is full of information that will help you prepare for your trip and get you ready for a truly magical experience! We make sure to get this out to you a few weeks before you go to give you plenty of time to go through all the information. If you are flying, make sure you pack this in your carry on bag so you can reference it during your flight and then you will have it readily available for your entire trip!
