Cheers, Beers & Mouse Ears

We’ll be honest, one of our favorite things to do while on a Walt Disney World vacation is eat and drink. Remember, calories DO NOT count at Walt Disney World, that’s the beauty of the magic! Especially when it’s a bit steamy, we love to enjoy a nice cold brew! It’s nice to know where to grab a cold one when making your way through the park. Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios all make access to beer easy – beer is sold at drink cards nearly everywhere in the park. What’s even better about beer being available in the parks is that it is always themed and totally authentic. We are going to bring your our five favorite beer choices!

Epcot is host to nearly every kind of alcohol you can imagine from margaritas to sake, the choices are endless.

Germany is home to Tammi’s favorite – Schofferhofer Grapefruit. This is an adult (pink/orange) version of Fresca. If you are into light, fruity beer that is 50% Schöfferhofer Hefeweizen and 50% grapefruit juice then this is your choice. Can you imagine checking out World Showcase in Epcot with this deliciously refreshing drink in your hand? You probably can’t, because trust us, it will be gone before you leave Germany!

Japan is where you can find Bryan’s beer of choice – Kirin Ichibin. Kirin is a light tasting beer that is topped off with a frothy and frozen head. On a hot day in Epcot, this beer is more of a treat than a drink. The taste is light so it won’t way you down when you are hoofing it around the world, but the frozen top acts as a mini refrigerator on top of your beer. Speaking from experience, Kirin mixes well after sake and will assist your dancing skills when in Morocco.

BaseLine Tap House at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the closest thing to beer heaven. Offering pub style snacks, BaseLine Tap House is home to around 18 different California based craft beers. Not a beer drinker? No problem, there are also a few wines and cocktails from the Golden State that might tickle your fancy.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is home to some of the most unique beers on property. Our favorite is the Safari Amber. The gorgeously caramel colored amber has a bit more body than a customary American lager, and partners well with any afternoon snack like a Mickey pretzel or a popcorn refill. One of the best things about the Safari Amber is that it available at nearly ever cart that is serving beer. So if you are the “bag holder” for Expedition Everest, take a seat on the rocks and grab yourself a refill! You never know, those hippos might look better after a few Safari Ambers.

Sometimes when we are on vacation we don’t always need or even want the “fancy schmancy” drinks, we want a cold and refreshing brew that will give us a little more pep in our step come mid afternoon.

We would love to hear what your favorites are! If you are looking to try some beer from around “the World” and we mean Walt Disney World, we will be happy to help you out! We look forward to helping you plan your next brew-tastic Walt Disney World vacation!

Your referrals are our most MAGICAL compliments!
