There’s A Rumbly In My Tumbly

“Should we get a dining plan?” This is the number one question that we get when booking vacations. There are so many answers to this question. Is it a good value? Yes. Will you get use out of it? Sure. But in all honesty, it all has to do with the eating preference of your family. Some families have one main meal and then snack through the rest of their day. Other families enjoy sitting down for multiple meals per day. It’s difficult for us to answer whether or not you should get the dining plan, as only you know your eating habits or rather your Disney diet. What we can do is break down the plan for you and perhaps this will make your decision easier.

Walt Disney World® offers the the ability to add the dining plan to your resort package. Using a dining plan at Walt Disney World® can offer the ease and relaxation of having your meals prepaid prior to your arrival at the resort. This is a major plus for those budgeting their vacation.

The Walt Disney World® Resort offers three different dining plans. There is an option for each family style. Don’t forget, the plans that are offered are for guests three years old and older. Now how does the dining plan work. The dining plan credits are based off of the number of nights booked at your Walt Disney World® Resort. Every guest in the room is required to use the same plan. From the moment you check in (and activate your dining plan) until midnight the day that you check out, the dining plan is at your service. The credits can be used in any way or day that works for your family.

Quick Service Dining Plan

The Quick Service Dining Plan is designed for the on the go families. This is a plan that offers the freedom of time. If you would prefer to do more rather than spend time at a sit down, table service restaurant then this plan is for you. The Quick Service Dining Plan gives each guest two quick service meals (with a beverage – alcohol if 21 or over), two snacks and a resort refillable mug. This particular plan does not allot dining credits to be used for character dining. This doesn’t mean that you cannot enjoy Chef Mickey’s or The Crystal Palace, it simply means you will have to pay out of pocket for that type of meal.

The Disney Dining Plan

Hands down – the Disney Dining Plan is the most popular dining plan purchased. This plan is best for families who want options as well as the best of both worlds. Each member of the party receives one quick service meal, one table service meal, two snacks and a resort refillable mug. Let’s not forget that you will also receive a beverage at each meal. Unlike the Quick Service Dining Plan, the Disney Dining Plan allows you to use your table service credits for characters dining experiences.

The Deluxe Disney Dining Plan offers each guest three table service (or quick service) meals, two snacks, a beverage at each meal as well as  the ever popular resort refillable mugs.
