Thirsty? Top 5 Lounges at the Disneyland® Resort!

Many of us plan a Disney Destination vacation without thinking about specialty lounges and drinks. Some might even think that alcohol + Disney = muy mal, but it’s all part of the experience. An experience that can be just as unique as the attractions – well, as long as you remember you’re still in the House of the Mouse!

Napa Rose

Napa Rose is a restaurant and wine bar located in Disney’s Grand Californian Resort and Spa. While the atmosphere is gorgeous, it’s the fire pit that draws our attention. There are approximately 1,000 bottles of wine at your fingertips and yes, most of them hail from California’s Napa Valley. If you are interested in trying something new, but still along your taste – have no fear. All of the serves at the Napa Rose Lounge and Restaurant are certified sommeliers.

The Cove Bar

The Cove Bar nuzzles up to Ariel’s Grog Grotto near the entrance of Paradise Pier in Disney’s California Adventure. You will be awe stricken when you see the views. Imagine sipping on liquid sunshine while watching Mickey’s Fun Wheel’s reflection glisten in the water in front of you. The theme of The Cove Bar is easily of a seaside boardwalk.

Feast on lobster nachos accompanied with sangria and craft brews. Sounds amazing right? Well, there’s more – there is a secret cocktail menus that is home to some of the most delicious themed drinks. Doesn’t a Neverland Tea or a Mickey’s Fun Wheel sound delish? We certainly think so! For the Instagramers out there – the gorgeous drinks will keep you posting for hours!

Carthay Circle Lounge

Carthay Circle Lounge is located inside of Disney’s California Adventure. The restaurant and lounge is inspired by the classic Golden Age of Hollywood with cocktails matching in theme. Once inside, you are immediately surrounded by photos of Walt Disney. Overwhelmed by nostalgia, you cannot help but sip on his favorite drink. The menu even lists the Scotch Mist as “Walt’s Drink of Choice”. The drink is served with Black and White Scotch Whisky with a lemon peel over crushed ice.

If you are a Disney fan, especially a fan of Walt Disney himself, Carthay Circle Lounge will not. It’s hard not to sip on his drink of choice and think about what thoughts possibly could have gone through his head.

Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar

Located near the pool of the Disneyland® Hotel, Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is truly a must do! It is sad that Trader Sam the Head Salesman created a spirited lounge to serve concoctions of his journeys to travelling tourists and the ever famous skippers. This bar is unbelievably overwhelming, and somewhat of an attraction itself. Once inside,  make sure the door behind you closes carefully. The atmosphere is decorated with trinkets, relics and treasures and relics from the adventures of Sam and his skippers. Think Enchanted Tiki Room, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Indiana Jones and the Jungle Cruise all tied into one building and experience. Any drink you order will offer a unique arrival.

Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is truly the most immersive bar we have ever visited. It is safe to say that once you walk in, sit down and order your drink, you and your party will immediately start having a “when can we come back” conversation. Kungaloosh!

These are what we at Bryan and Tammi with Ears of Experience, LLC consider to be the top bars and lounges at the Disneyland® Resort. Keep in mind Disney pays careful attention to every single, tiny detail you can possibly imagine. With that in mind, there won’t be a bar or beer truck is will disappoint.
